What's covered

Anything that fails on our end.

If a sock with our name on it has worn through or developed holes, we replace it. The warranty applies to every pair we've ever made — across all six lines, regardless of when you bought them.

Worn through

Heel or toe worn through, holes anywhere on the sock — from regular use, however many years in. If a sock fails its job, we replace it.

Hard-use failure

Job sites, trail miles, court hours, season after season — if hard wear puts a hole through them, send them in. The conditions that expose weak gear are the conditions Altera is built for.

Construction issues

Loose stitching, blown seam, anything where the manufacturing failed before the fiber did. No questions, no inspection process.

How a claim works

Submit a claim and send us your clean worn pair. Once they are received, we will ship you a new pair.

We ship a new pair

Same line, same size, same height (as long as it's available) — or a swap of equal or lesser value if you'd rather move into a different line. Shipping on us.

01Where do I send the socks back to?

Mail your clean worn pair back to us at: Altera 190 Industry Drive, Ste B Springfield, KY 40069

02Do I need the original receipt?

If you purchased them online, just provide us with the order number. If you purchased them at a show or another retailer, just let us know where you purchased them from.

03What if I bought them as a gift, or on resale?

The warranty is on the sock, not the buyer. If they came from us originally, we'll cover them — no original-purchaser clause.

04What if the line I bought is discontinued?

We'll replace with the closest current equivalent — same line family, same height, same weight class. We've never had a customer come away unhappy with the swap.

05What's NOT covered?

Two things, and we're upfront about them: damage from bleach or harsh chemical wash (bleach degrades the fiber in ways no warranty can backstop), and intentional damage. We also can't always judge generic 'thinning' — if a sock is thin but still doing its job, that's expected after years of wear. If a sock has actually worn through, blown a seam, or developed holes, send it in — that's exactly what the warranty is for.

06Is there a limit on number of claims?

No. If a pair we replace also wears out, we replace that one too. The warranty is on the product, not the customer.

07What if I lost them?

In order to replace your socks, we do need the socks shipped back to us. This helps us examine the wear out areas so we can ensure those areas are addressed for future production runs. So, if you don't have the socks to ship back to us, we can't replace them.

08How can you afford to back this?

Because the engineering means most pairs never need replacing. Customers are still in the same pair thirteen years in. The math works precisely because the product works.
